As the situation around the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve, we are actively making necessary changes to provide safety and flexibility for our guests. We have modified our cancellation policy and will allow for full flexibility and cancellation up to 24 hours prior to your arrival. All surfaces in the yurts and bathrooms will be cleaned and disinfected prior to your arrival. We ask that all guests practice social distancing, good hygiene, and follow the latest updates from health care professionals and government leaders.
About Camp Oakley
Camp Oakley is open year-round. It is located in the foothills of the Uinta mountain range and just minutes from the Wasatch Mountain range and the world-renowned ski resorts of Park City. Accommodations include four Yurts with a kitchen, ADA shower and restroom; 16 Individual Tent Campsites, and three bathhouses, which include ADA showers and restrooms. Total Camp Oakley Capacity: 330 days, 248 overnight. Our facilities are ADA compliant and home to an extensive groomed trail system and well-maintained roads which offer access to most of the mountain for our wheelchair patrons. Our yurts are heated and allow year-round access to the mountains. Come experience the river during the summer and sleigh rides/cross country skiing during the winter.
Camp Oakley, a subsidiary of JKS Legacy Foundation, is also a center for therapeutic recreation that caters to underserved populations but is open to all groups with an associate referral. The camp provides a facility for partner camps and is currently fundraising to develop in-house programming.
Camp Oakley is open to all groups but will cater to those with varying abilities. Camp Oakley continues to encourage non-profit religious, community, and scouting organizations to use the camp (see rules.) Requests to use Camp Oakley from people directly associated with the Sorenson family and employees and consultants of Endeavor Capital, LLC; the JKS Legacy Foundation; the Sorenson Legacy Foundation, and other Sorenson organizations will also be considered. Priority will be given to groups with verified 501c3 status. Each year Camp Oakley will allow specific weeks in the peak season for use by groups of varying abilities only.
